Nightingale
Description
Nightingale is a high-performance compute cluster designed for sensitive data, providing researchers with a secure system for data storage and powerful computation. It ensures compliance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) for Protected Health Information (PHI) and is also suitable for projects requiring similar or lower security levels, such as compliance with Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) policies. Nightingale undergoes annual audits by external entities to maintain secure operations (SOC 2 Type 2). Projects not requiring this level of security are likely best served by other resources.
Nightingale has an associated tape storage option, Jade, that provides low-cost long-term retention of PHI and CUI information.
