MAXQDA Analytics Pro Licensing

MAXQDA 26 is a new application and not just an update from MAXQDA 24. To use MAXQDA 26, you must download and install that version. MAXQDA 24 projects will open in MAXQDA 26. If you are working in a group, all members should use the same version of the software to ensure that files remain compatible. Full instructions are at https://www.maxqda.com/blogpost/maxqda-2025-nov.   1. Download and run the MAXQDA installation file from https://www.maxqda.com/download-now.
  2. Run the now installed MAXQDA application and from the “Welcome to MAXQDA” screen that will come up, select “Connect to your institution’s network license”.
    • Your computer must be either on the campus network or connected via the campus VPN service.

3. Enter “maxqda.webstore.illinois.edu” in the “Server address” field. The port value should already be 21990. Change it to that value if it is not.

    4. Select “Search for licenses automatically” if not already selected, and then click the “Refresh” button. If you receive an error about not being able to contact the server, verify you are on the campus network or connected to it via VPN.       5. Click on the “MAXQDA” entry that should appear in the “Search for licenses automatically” section and then click on the “Connect”.

      6. The MAXQDA application should now start and show in the upper left that it is licensed via a Network License:
