The Illinois Campus Cluster program has introduced a High-Throughput Computing (HTC) service, powered by the open-source workload manager HTCondor. HTC environments are designed for projects that require extensive computing cycles over long periods, focusing on the quantity of completed jobs rather than the speed of individual (often independent) tasks. The HTC service currently only includes CPUs but GPUs may be incorporated in the future.
